Hull - logistics hub of the UK

As a logistics firm based in Hull, we certainly reap the benefits. The city is fast-becoming one of the most sought after locations for logistics in the UK, Europe and beyond. We’ve covered all the facts in this blog.

Facilities

The Port of Hull provides one of the best places in the UK to import, export, transport and store goods. The state-of-the-art port is supported by impressive infrastructure, necessary to make it one of the most efficient and effective transportation hubs in the world.

Connectivity

The Port of Hull is part of the Humber Estuary, one of the busiest and fastest-growing trading areas in Europe. The city offers a major geographical advantage with its excellent transport links. It’s connected by dual carriageway with links to the M62, M18 and M1, providing unrivalled access into the UK.

Import shipments can be on trucks and driving on the UK’s main road networks in under an hour. No other port in the UK or Europe can compete with this type of speed and efficiency.

Hull is also close to Humberside Airport and under two hours away from the World Freight Terminal at Manchester Airport.

Education

As well as benefiting from excellent transport links, facilities and operations, Hull is also home to The University of Hull’s Logistics Institute. Established in 2008, the institute is a world-renowned centre for research, education and expertise in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Through its work, it has trained hundreds of logistics graduates that have gone on to help shape the sector. It’s also been responsible for forging vital partnerships with other establishments and businesses around the world, thus positioning Hull as a pioneer when it comes to the industry.
